The membership follows the coordinated efforts of the Web Services and Information Security Lab (WeSIS) and its Director, Prof. Konstantinos Rantos, who will represent Democritus University of Thrace in the ESDC network.

This participation reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to advancing knowledge, education, and collaboration in cybersecurity and security-related domains at European level.

The team aims to create an open and collaborative environment where students can explore blockchain technologies, smart contracts, digital currencies, and decentralized applications through seminars, workshops, projects, and hands-on activities.

Cybernauts aims to bring together students interested in cybersecurity and create an open environment for learning, collaboration, hands-on practice, and innovation. Through seminars, workshops, team projects, CTF competitions, hackathons, and awareness activities, the group will help students develop practical skills and engage with real-world cybersecurity challenges.

The team is open to students from all departments, highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of cybersecurity and its relevance to technology, law, economics, and society.

We hope this book becomes a helpful companion for students attending related courses and that it will inspire them to explore the fascinating world of Information Security.

to provide guidelines on the protection of digital identity wallets in the form of a set

of security measures that are considered essential to protect the associated assets from a

diverse set of related threats and risks. In particular, the report focuses on providing

guidelines on security measures for digital wallets, considering integration with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI).

On the one hand, it serves to support identity wallet application engineers by providing a checklist of appropriate security measures.

On the other hand, it allows national authorities, supervisory bodies, auditors, etc. to evaluate

digital wallet implementations.

The report also provides recommendations for digital identity wallets that accommodate different types of identity information and credentials, thus addressing the security needs for 3 distinct use cases.

The main objective of the training was to provide participants an in-depth knowledge on the zero-trust security model and deployment options, as well as guidance on how to implement it in their organisation. Participants get a good understanding about security measures that can be deployed to confront major threats and reduce the associated risks by implementing a zero-trust security model.

The training consisted of two parts: an asynchronous e-learning with an analysis of a well-studied ransomware attack, and a 2-day classroom on the zero-trust approach. The learning objectives of the course were met by combining the theoretical analysis of existing standards and best practices, with an extensive set of activities in the form of a table-top exercise that allow participants to practice some of the learning outcomes, enhance their knowledge and understanding and acquire some basic skills on the design, implementation and maturity evaluation of zero-trust architectures.
